This week's theme:
Self-Portrait
I much prefer the other side of the lens, but as Darcy so eloquently said:
"It's not about you".
This photo was taken after my first official race.
The Bill Crews 5K Remission Run.
I ran in memory of my dad who passed away 13 years ago and in honor of my husband who is a 16 year cancer survivor.
The race is held yearly and 100% of the proceeds help fund cancer research at the M.D Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
I started running last May so I am a definite newbie!

THE LIVES OF THOSE WE'LL ALWAYS LOVE
The Bill Crews Remission Run

CUTE!
RépondreSupprimerI love this shot! I am a newbie runner too, starting last April. I love it but haven't run an "official" 5K yet. I am from the San Antonio area so I know all to well what kind of conditions you were running in last summer. :)
RépondreSupprimerGreat, great shot and congrats!
I love this picture! The colors are beautiful and of course, you are so photogenic!
RépondreSupprimer@ Foursons: Thank you. I found last week's theme quite a challenge and I love your photo, which is so fun and dynamic! Congrats! You are the queen of your castle...Can't wait to see your post for the coming week. So,nice to know there is a newbie runner not too far, who is going through the pain of it all. It will keep me going, and maybe we can meet at the San Antonio Half Marathon some day. Newbies Unite!
RépondreSupprimer@ Emily: Thank you. I finally came up with the idea after Saturday's run in Conroe. They read the names of every single person people were running in honor or memory of. It was such a moving moment. As Dana-Sue said "no child should have to go through cancer"!
Nice picture!! Love the cause! SO glad to know Philip is doing well. Stopped running years ago because of swelling of the knees. Way to go to all of you!
